Basketball Recap: Josie Kissell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Walsh

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Springfield, Holly was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 32-21 victory over the Walsh Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Holly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josie Kissell out in front who posted seven points and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Graci Morlan, who had 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why Walsh lost, don't look at Averi Kunselman. Despite the final result, she put up three points in addition to 11 boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Kunselman a new career-high in steals.

The victory got Holly back to even at 2-2. As for Walsh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Holly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-38 defeat against Kit Carson on the 21st. As for Walsh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-37 win against Wiley on the 21st.
