Football Recap: Burlington's Undefeated Season over After Six Games + How To Watch

Burlington lost against Wray back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars fell 28-18 to the Eagles. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Burlington still got an impressive performance from Jason Saucedo, who rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Saucedo is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 137 every time he's taken the field this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Collins, who rushed for 83 yards and one TD on only six carries, and also threw for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Collins got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 71 yards. Wray's leading receiver Aaron Tena was Collins' top target yet again, picking up 68 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 60 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Burlington fell to 5-1. As for Wray, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlington will take on Wiggins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wray, they will challenge Limon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Badgers' defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
