Baseball Recap: Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy Find Success

Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the A.J. Ellender Patriots as the Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy Tigers made off with a 14-4 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jeremy Gibson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, he also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Gavin Gibson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Benton Bruner, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for A.J. Ellender, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy will challenge Chalmette at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for A.J. Ellender, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-1 loss against St. Martin's Episcopal on the 14th.
