Basketball Recap: Mulvane Find Success

If Independence wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mulvane, they should've done a better job of containing Manny Myers. The Mulvane Wildcats secured a 77-71 W over the Independence Bulldogs on Saturday thanks in part to Myers, who went 13 for 22 on his way to 32 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 19 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Canon Lazier, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

The win got Mulvane back to even at 2-2. As for Independence, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Mulvane will host Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mulvane is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. As for Independence, they will head out to take on Labette County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Independence has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 221 points over their last three games.
