Softball Recap: Venice Wins Going Away Against Lemon Bay

Venice won the last time they faced Lemon Bay and things went their way on Thursday too. The Venice Indians were the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over the Lemon Bay Manta Rays. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Jayde Neptune looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Venice got a big performance out of Kiarra Evans, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Evans has posted since back in February of 2024. Molly Sullivan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Venice always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lemon Bay only posted an OBP of .320.

Venice's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lemon Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Venice wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-2 loss against Riverview Sarasota on the 25th. As for Lemon Bay, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-4 win against Port Charlotte on the 25th.
