Baseball Game Preview: Blacksburg Wildcats vs. Oakbrook Prep Knights

The Blacksburg Wildcats will take on the Oakbrook Prep Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Blacksburg lost 7-1 to Blue Ridge on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Fighting Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Oakbrook Prep got themselves on the board against Berea on Monday, but Berea never followed suit. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 16-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Knights have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Karter Revis was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Bryce Horton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Oakbrook Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berea only posted an OBP of .214.

With the win, Oakbrook Prep broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-3-1. As for Blacksburg, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
