Softball Recap: Glendale Has No Trouble Against Moshannon Valley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central, Glendale was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels with a sharp 13-6 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Black Knights/Damsels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Ava Weld, who went 3-for-5 with three doubles and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Weld wasn't the only one making solid contact: Glendale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moshannon Valley only managed nine hits.

Glendale's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Moshannon Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Glendale will face off against Mount Union at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.59 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Moshannon Valley, they will challenge West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
