Recap: Mountain Ridge Sentinels vs. Corner Canyon Chargers
The Mountain Ridge Sentinels suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 83-60 loss at the hands of Corner Canyon. While losing is never fun, Mountain Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Corner Canyon is ranked tenth).
Despite the loss, Mountain Ridge still got an impressive performance from Spencer Krainich, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krainich has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Sylvester, who scored eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Corner Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Feroah, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Bendinger, who scored 23 points.
Mountain Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Corner Canyon, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Ridge will take on Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 243 points over their last three games. As for Corner Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bingham's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
