Basketball Recap: Litchfield's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Litchfield was handed a 30-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past the Nokomis Redskins 36-34. The win was some much needed relief for the Purple Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Litchfield had a senior duo take command as Brayden Ronco went 6 of 15 on his way to 14 points and Nate Schaake posted ten points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. That's the most blocks Schaake has posted since back in December of 2023.

Litchfield's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Nokomis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Litchfield and Nokomis could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Litchfield (ranked 355th) will meet Edinburg (ranked 128th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Nokomis will square off against Mater Dei at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 334 places (438 vs. 104).
