Baseball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin fell victim to Mattawan and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4-1. As for Mattawan, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-4 record this season.

Franklin and Mattawan should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Patriots will face off against Dearborn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (48 vs. 337). Meanwhile, Mattawan (ranked 38th) will meet Portage Northern (ranked 235th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
