Basketball Recap: Hannah Cratic Key Part of a Team Effort in Pirates Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calhoun County, Miller County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Quitman County Hornets by a score of 57-44. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 40-10 back in December of 2024.

Miller County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Cratic, who posted 19 points and five steals. Cratic is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Rhamya Hughes was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Miller County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Quitman County, their loss was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Miller County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-56 defeat against Pelham on the 1st. As for Quitman County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-30 loss against Terrell County on the 1st.
