The Gunderson Grizzlies will head out to take on the Overfelt Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Gunderson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Gunderson took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mt. Pleasant, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Grizzlies had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted since March 25th.

The team relied heavily on Dominic Lake, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Chavez, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Overfelt hadn't done well against James Lick recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Royals blew past the Comets 13-3. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.
HUGO JERONIMO spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Overfelt's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't).
At the plate, BRIAN BECERRA DADO was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Adrian Garcia also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Overfelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Overfelt's record is now 9-10. As for Gunderson, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gunderson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Overfelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Gunderson might still be hurting after the 17-4 loss they got from Overfelt when the teams last played back in April. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
