Basketball Game Preview: Discovery Spartans vs. Tampa Prep Terrapins

The Discovery Spartans will take on the Tampa Prep Terrapins in a tournament on Saturday. One thing working in Discovery's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 games.

Last Tuesday, Discovery was fully in charge, breezing past Haines City 65-35. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Discovery to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darius Livingston, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and three steals. Livingston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eric Dailey, who posted ten points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Tampa Prep fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Berkeley Prep on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Buccaneers. The Terrapins haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Discovery's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. As for Tampa Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-3.
