Basketball Game Preview: Wiregrass Kings vs. East Central HomeSchool Patriots

Wiregrass is 2-8 against East Central HomeSchool since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Wiregrass Kings will get right back to it and host the East Central HomeSchool Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Wiregrass turned things around against Conecuh Springs Christian on Thursday. They walked away with a 24-15 victory over the Eagles.

Meanwhile, East Central HomeSchool had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They managed a 34-29 win over the Lightning. The 34-point effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Wiregrass better keep an eye on Micah Coalson. She was instrumental in East Central HomeSchool's win, putting up 20 points along with eight steals and five boards. Coalson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Emma Nelson was another key player, posting seven points along with five boards and five steals.

East Central HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Wiregrass' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for East Central HomeSchool, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
