Game recap: Monroe Area High School Football Team tops Eastside

MONROE, Ga. - Stanton Truitt ran for two touchdowns and Kwan Brooks added three as well as Monroe Area (Monroe, Ga.) beat Eastside (Covington, Ga.) 47-19 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Brooks in the first quarter, the Hurricanes led 27-6 at the half.

Monroe Area grew its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. MA scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Truitt.

With the win the Monroe school extended its winning streak to 10 games. Monroe Area defeated Chestatee 28-21 last week.

The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Eagles took, 35-0.
