Softball Game Preview: Carey Blue Devils vs. Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds

The Carey Blue Devils will take on the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds in a tournament on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Carey and Colonel Crawford, and Colonel Crawford kept the tradition alive. The Blue Devils came up short against the Eagles on Monday, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered against the Eagles since April 11, 2023.

Carey saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danika Hanna, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Lima Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 13-2 to Shawnee.

Lima Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Carey, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Carey came out on top in a nail-biter against Lima Central Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Thunderbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
