Baseball Recap: South Florence Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

South Florence came out on top against Wilson on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Bruins' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Hunter White looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, South Florence let Cohen Springs and Ben Tyner run wild. Springs went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Tyner went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Tyner has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe McLaughlin, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for South Florence and bumps their season record up to 15-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Wilson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Coming up, South Florence will square off against North Myrtle Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson, they will head out to square off against Lake City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
