Basketball Recap: Chillicothe Comes Up Short

Chillicothe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Athens Bulldogs 71-38. The Cavaliers lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 43-36 score last time.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Athens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Koopal, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ella Chapman, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 12 points in addition to eight assists and three steals.

Chillicothe's record is now 1-22. As for Athens, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Chillicothe nor Athens have any future games scheduled.
