Basketball Recap: Rockingham County Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rockingham County can now relate to. They took a hard 78-61 fall against the Robinson Bulldogs on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 80th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Robinson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamell Reid, who on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. Reid is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Da'Montre Harlee, who en route to 14 points and six boards.

Rockingham County's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Robinson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.

Rockingham County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robinson, they will take on High Point Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Robinson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 games.
