Basketball Recap: East Rowan Drops Highest Score of Season Against West Rowan

East Rowan is still winless after their match against West Rowan on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-65 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Rowan Falcons. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

West Rowan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brant Graham out in front who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Graham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Young, who posted nine points along with seven blocks and six boards.

East Rowan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for West Rowan, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Rowan will challenge South Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for West Rowan, they will take on Northwest Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Northwest Cabarrus will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something West Rowan surely won't give up without a fight.
