Columbia County Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Pierce Cughan and Clay Farley

If Columbia County Christian were riding high off their 60-34 takedown of Meadowbrook Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Columbia County Christian took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northumberland Christian. It was the first time this season that Columbia County Christian let down their fans at home.

Columbia County Christian's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Clay Farley and Pierce Cughan. Farley dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Cughan scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Columbia County Christian's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3. As for Northumberland Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia County Christian will take on Walnut Street Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northumberland Christian on the road again on Thursday and play against Juniata Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Juniata Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
