Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Randolph Wildcats vs. Providence Grove Patriots

The Eastern Randolph Wildcats will square off against the Providence Grove Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Eastern Randolph faced off against Randleman on Tuesday. Eastern Randolph was outmatched by Randleman and fell 68-28. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Tigers are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Providence Grove suffered their biggest defeat since February 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 68-40 loss at the hands of Southwestern Randolph. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Providence Grove's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Eastern Randolph, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.
