Basketball Recap: Dr. Krop Starts Season with Victory Against American

Dr. Krop took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They secured a 53-47 W over the American Patriots. For the Lightning, this counts as revenge for the 69-36 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dr. Krop to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anigh Gracia, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine steals. Those 16 points gave Gracia a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johans Richards, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Despite the loss, American still got an impressive performance from Tyler Kilhefner, who posted 15 points and three steals. Jonathan Garcia was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Dr. Krop has already played their next game, a 60-55 loss against Coral Reef on the 20th. As for American, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-48 defeat against Jackson on the 20th.
