Baseball Recap: Army-Navy Warriors vs. Crawford Colts
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Army-Navy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Crawford Colts as the Army-Navy Warriors made off with a 17-6 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Ashton Little made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Palmer Free and Mario Riquer did most of the damage at the plate: Free scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Riquer scored three runs while going 3-for-5. What's more, Free posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Lincoln Brunson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
The win got Army-Navy back to even at 2-2. As for Crawford, they moved to 3-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Army-Navy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bonsall on March 25th. As for Crawford, they will square off against Guajome Park Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
