Baseball Recap: Shadow Ridge Takes a Loss

Shadow Ridge fell victim to Apollo and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ryan McAfee was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Shadow Ridge's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 8-10-2 when he doesn't).

Shadow Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 11-11-2. As for Apollo, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

While Shadow Ridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
