Volleyball Recap: Grand Saline Indians vs. Troup Tigers

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Grand Saline couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Troup Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Grand Saline took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 17-15.

Georgia Ray had a dynamite game for Troup, getting 17 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Ray has posted since back in October.

The loss snapped Grand Saline's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 24-10 record. As for Troup, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 21-19.

Grand Saline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Troup, they will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. Harmony is coming into the game with six straight wins at home, so Troup will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
