Baseball Recap: Serrano Takes a Loss

Serrano had lost seven straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 6-16 to make it eight. They fell 4-0 to the Hesperia Scorpions. The game marked the first time this year in which the Diamondbacks were not able to get on the board.

As for Hesperia, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Four seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Hesperia's part, the result came thanks to Carlos Ramirez's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Hesperia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Castillo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Gavin Coscarat also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

While Serrano had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
