After only one run in their last match, Memphis Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Southwind on Friday. The Memphis Central Warriors came out on top against the Southwind Jaguars by a score of 11-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Joshua Thurmon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Thurmon was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Malachai Adams, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joshua Hollowell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

The victory snapped Memphis Central's losing streak at four games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-1 record. As for Southwind, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Memphis Central has already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against Raleigh-Egypt on the 10th. As for Southwind, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-7 victory against Kirby on the 10th.
