Baseball Recap: Desert Hills Wins Going Away Against Hurricane

Desert Hills barely beat Hurricane the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Thunder were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Tigers on Wednesday. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Jace Fillmore made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other pitching news, Maddux MacIntosh looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

Back at the plate, Stoakli Tate was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Crew Christensen, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Desert Hills' win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Hurricane, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Desert Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hurricane: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
