Basketball Game Preview: Madawaska Owls vs. Fort Fairfield Tigers

Madawaska is 2-8 against Fort Fairfield since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Madawaska Owls will venture away from home to face off against the Fort Fairfield Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Madawaska knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 matches -- so hopefully Fort Fairfield likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Madawaska was fully in charge, breezing past Ashland 70-24. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Fort Fairfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Houlton.

Madawaska's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.9 points. As for Fort Fairfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Everything went Madawaska's way against Fort Fairfield when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Madawaska made off with a 64-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madawaska since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
