League recap: Freedom runs winning streak to eight

Freedom (17-6, 10-3) is riding a league-best 8-game winning streak. The streak was extended by another game over the past week, a 2-0 victory over Osbourn.

Freedom made the biggest jump in the national rankings, moving from 1222 to 998 thanks to a 1-0 record over the past week. The Eagles are currently No. 37 in the Virginia state rankings, with an overall record of 17-6.

Battlefield's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing eight hits and two walks to lead the league in both categories. The Bobcats have given up a mere 150 hits on the year, while striking out 120 opposing hitters. Zach Harris is the leader in that category with 47 Ks on the season.
