Elkton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in 1A Special District 2 (8 Man). The Elks beat Butte Falls 44-14 earlier in the week.
Camas Valley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating North Lake, 56-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Camas Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. JOSH MATTOX threw for 95 and one touchdown and Weston Tilton had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Josh Garcia chipped in 228 yards. Caleb LIndsey helped Camas Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 33 yards.
Camas Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. MATTOX has thrown for 598 yards and four touchdowns this season, while LIndsey has nine catches for 387 yards. Garcia leads the league in rushing with 396 yards.
The marquee game in 1A Special District 2 (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Eli Wolfe's team and Gilchrist. The Hornets comes into the matchup ranked first in the state, while the Grizzlies ranks 25th.
Gilchrist and Powers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Gilchrist eventually emerging with a 44-42 victory.
