Softball Recap: Ridgewood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Payton College Prep on Saturday, Ridgewood came back down to earth. The Rebels fell 3-0 to the Fenton Bison on Monday. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Ridgewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Zagone, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Ridgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fenton, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Looking ahead, Ridgewood will venture away from home to face off against Glenbard East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fenton, they will host West Chicago at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.44 runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of.
