Basketball Recap: Amaya Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Troy over La Salle Institute

Troy easily dispatched Hudson Falls last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Troy Flying Horses fell just short of the La Salle Institute Cadets by a score of 59-57 on Tuesday.

Troy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amaya Harris, who went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points. Harris is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Laila Thomas was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 10 points and six boards.

Troy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for La Salle Institute, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Troy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-25 victory against Cohoes on the 10th. La Salle Institute has also already played their next game, an 83-32 defeat against Catholic Central on the 10th.
