Softball Recap: Pearl City Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pearl City walked away with it. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Lena-Winslow Panthers on Thursday. The game was the first time the Wolves have beaten the Panthers on their field since May 6, 2022.

Mackenzie Lotz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pearl City got a massive performance out of Kendra Kuhlemeier, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Isabella Smith was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.

Pearl City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Pearl City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lena-Winslow, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-13.

As of now, neither Pearl City nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
