Baseball Recap: Merritt Island Christian Has No Trouble Against Varsity Opponent

On Thursday, the Merritt Island Christian Cougars got the win against Varsity Opponent by a conclusive 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Murphy was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That hit marked the first that he got this season.

The win made it two in a row for Merritt Island Christian and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Merritt Island Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Varsity Opponent, they will venture away from home to challenge Eau Gallie at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eau Gallie will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Varsity Opponent surely won't give up without a fight.
