Baseball Recap: Browne Takes a Loss

Browne extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 9-7 in the process. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cesar Chavez Champions. That's two games in a row now that the Bruins have lost by exactly five runs.

Axel Inzunza was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for Cesar Chavez, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games.

On Cesar Chavez's side, Adolfo Pacheco was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Jesus Benitez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Browne will face off against Tempe at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cesar Chavez, they will venture away from home to take on Apollo at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Champions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
