Basketball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Marshall challenged Lead Hill on Friday. The Marshall Bobcats took a 72-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lead Hill Tigers. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.

Lead Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nolan Turner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Turner has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Noah Royce was another key player, putting up 15 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lead Hill, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will square off against South Side at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lead Hill, they will venture away from home to challenge Ozark Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lead Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season.
