Basketball Recap: Homer Comes Up Short

Homer was the 27-25 winner over Creighton when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Homer Knights took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Creighton Bulldogs. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Homer saw an underclassman step up: freshman Leidy Hunter posted seven points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Hunter a new career-high in steals (two). Another player making a difference was Junius Snowball, who earned nine points.

Homer's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Creighton, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

Homer has already played their next match, an 80-43 defeat against Bancroft-Rosalie on the 11th. As for Creighton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-43 victory against Bloomfield on the 8th.
