Coalinga's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They breezed past the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears to the tune of 62-22. The victory continues a trend for the Horned Toads in their matchups with the Golden Bears: they've now won five in a row.

Tyson Alvarado had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 125 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also catching one score. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Rj Garcia also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.

Coalinga's run defense was locked in: Sierra Pacific could only muster 2.8 yards per carry. The Horned Toads didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.6.

Despite the loss, Sierra Pacific still got an impressive performance from Dawson Berna, who threw for 191 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 32 yards.

Coalinga's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sierra Pacific, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coalinga and Sierra Pacific will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Horned Toads see the field they'll take on Washington Union at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Sierra Pacific, their break will end when they face Caruthers at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
