Football Recap: Greenbrier Bobcats vs. Springfield Yellow Jackets
Greenbrier couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the Springfield Yellow Jackets on Friday. The Bobcats lost against the Yellow Jackets in their previous head to head back in August of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 20-10 score last time.
Jaidon Hurst had a dynamite game for Springfield, rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Another rusher making a difference was Keenan (KJ) Chatman, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Greenbrier will venture away from home to face off against Portland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Springfield, they will face off against Clarksville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
