Basketball Game Preview: Cross Stingrays vs. Clinton Red Devils

The Cross Stingrays will take on the Clinton Red Devils in a tournament on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Cross came up short against Durham Academy and fell 44-31. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stingrays came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 79th in South Carolina, while the Cavaliers are ranked 230th in North Carolina).

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Clinton's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 36-25 to Concord Christian. The matchup marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Cross, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
