Softball Game Preview: Pace Vikings vs. Donna North Chiefs

Pace has gone a perfect 9-0 against Donna North recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pace Vikings will host the Donna North Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pace has three straight victories, Donna North has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Pace took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Porter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Pace skirted past Porter 3-1. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Cowboys on their field since April 13, 2021.

Luna Juarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pace saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valeria Alvarado, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Donna North's offense. They lost 12-0 to Rivera on Friday.

Pace now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Donna North, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything went Pace's way against Donna North when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Pace made off with a 19-8 win. Will Pace repeat their success, or does Donna North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
