Baseball Recap: Hackensack Takes a Loss

Nutley hit Hackensack with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets fell 12-7 to the Maroon Raiders. If the Comets were looking for revenge after losing 8-0 to the Maroon Raiders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hackensack got a massive performance out of Matt Feehan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Gabe Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Hackensack dropped their record down to 7-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Nutley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Looking ahead, Hackensack is taking a road trip to square off against Indian Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Braves have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Nutley, they will welcome Wayne Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Maroon Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
