Basketball Recap: Midland Takes a Loss

Midland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Nemo Vista Red Hawks, falling 92-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (60), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Midland's loss came despite strong showings from Riley Pruitt and Haden Pierce. Pruitt went 8 for 19 to rack up 26 points and eight boards, while Pierce dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Pierce a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Nez Roberts, who posted ten points.

Midland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Nemo Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.

Midland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-42 loss against Bradford on the 5th. Nemo Vista has also already played their next contest (against Timbo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
