Basketball Preview: Bethel Christian vs. New Life Academy Bobcats
Bethel Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the New Life Academy Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bethel Christian can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past Victory Christian 52-32.
Even though New Life Academy has not done well against the Lions recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. New Life Academy came out on top against the Lions by a score of 53-40. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but New Life Academy was the better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Life Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dontrel Lee, who scored 29 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lee has scored at least a third of New Life Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Dunn, who scored 18 points.
Bethel Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for New Life Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home.
