Football Recap: South Pike Eagles vs. Columbia Wildcats
South Pike lost against Columbia back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles fell 49-36 to the Wildcats. The Eagles were up 22-8 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, South Pike saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Douglas Wansley rushed for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Wansley also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Eagles are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Antwaun Adams was another key player, picking up 96 receiving yards and one TD.
