            Softball Recap: Skyline Thunderbirds vs. Ness City Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Skyline was handed a heart-breaking two-run  defeat in their last  match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ness City  on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp  15-5 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbirds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

 Sarah Reyes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those  ten  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in five of her six plate appearances with three  stolen bases, five  runs,  and one  triple. She has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last six times she's  played.
 In other batting news, Skyline let  Grace Hoffman and  Gaby Eubank run wild. Hoffman  got on base  in two of her five plate appearances with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI, while  Eubank  went 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kooper Wesley, who  went 2-for-4 with one  RBI.
 Skyline  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in four consecutive  contests.
Skyline's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 15-6. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ness City,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Skyline beat the Eagles by a score of  21-0 later that day.
