Basketball Recap: Expression Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Expression Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Point Pointers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 50th in West Virginia, while the Pointers are ranked 256th in Ohio).

When it comes to explaining why Expression Prep Academy lost, don't look at Rasheed Morrison. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-12 to rack up 25 points. Morrison is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Theo Agyemang, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Expression Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for South Point, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Expression Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-62 win against Varsity Opponent on the 19th. As for South Point, they will head out on the road to challenge Minford at 6:00 p.m. on February 24th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Minford comes in on nine and South Point on four.
