The Rogers Vikings will face off against the Providence Country Day Knights at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rogers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Rogers easily dispatched Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Vikings fell just short of North Providence by a score of 7-5 on Friday.

Cole Marley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Providence Country Day earned a 6-1 win over Davies Career & Tech on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

Providence Country Day's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rogers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Rogers took their win against Providence Country Day in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
